Helpful tips: Always work on a clean level surface, free of imperfections or debris. Always use straight boards. Check for square after each step. Always pre-drill holes before attaching with screws. Use glue with finish nails for a stronger hold. Wipe excess glue off bare wood for stained projects, as dried glue will not take stain. Be safe, have fun, and ask for help if you need it. The angle for the legs should be cut at 30 degrees and use a jig saw to curve the opposite end. Then, drill 1/2” holes with the paddle bit in the legs and side boards for the bolts. Next, in all of the 22 1/2” boards, pre-drill the holes for the Kregg Screws. The black rectangles in the drawing below indicated the pre-drilled holes for the Kregg screws. Finally, in one of the 22 1/2” boards, drill 21 holes, 3/4” apart for the peg score board. Repeat for other board.
Asseble all the parts. Start with the outside boards. Be sure to use wood glue on all joints and make sure all Kregg screws are assembled from the inside. Also, the score board must be assembled on the same end with the legs. Once the outside boards are screwed together, attach the inner supports. Finally, glue and nail on the surface board. Repeat for other board.
Attached all hardware. Start with the legs. Use the carriage bolt and hex nut to attach the legs. Tighten the bolt enough to allow the legs to swing. Next, place each cornhole board on top of one another with the board surface facing out. Attach the hinges and latches. Then, cut the rope in equal lengths and thread through each hole. Tie a knot on each end to prevent the rope from pulling through. Finally, paint the boards to your desired color or find vinyl wrap. Enjoy!
